Woman attacked in alleyway

A WOMAN was attacked and pushed to the ground by two thugs at Warrington
The incident was in a passageway between Derek Avenue and Hilden Avenue, Orford at about 7.45pm last night (Wednesday)
Police say the woman, aged 45, was walking along the passageway when a man approached her and asked her for a cigarette. As she turned to face him she saw a second man.
The pair pushed her to the ground and tried to grab her handbag. But she held on to it and the two offenders ran off empty handed. The woman was badly shaken but not seriously hurt.
Police are asking for witnesses of the attack or if anyone saw two men acting suspiciously in the area. Anyone who can help should contact DC Becky Dixon on 0845 458 0000.
