Singer Lucie comes to brighten the town after her shock exit from the show – which brought protests from viewers all over the country.
The fun-filled Christmas lights switch-on event from 4.00pm to 7.30pm will be hosted by Chris Clarkson from BBC1’s The One Show.
Entertainment also includes singer Kristyna Myles, High School Musical/Hannah Montana tribute act High School Holiday, Parr Hall’s larger-than-life panto stars and special guest stars Fifi and Bumble from Fifi and the Flowertots.
For those who cannot get into Golden Square the celebrations will be shown on a big screen in Bridge Street.
