Who will switch on town's lights?

X FACTOR’S loss will be Warrington’s gain when the town’s Christmas Lights are switched on.
Whichever wannabe singing star is booted off the X Factor this Sunday will be heading to Warrington to headline the Christmas Lights event on November 12.
The mystery act will perform at the Old Marketplace outside Golden Square as part of the festivities.
So Warrington could be host to any of the current acts – soulful Stacey? Danyl? Heartthrob Olly? – or even Simon Cowell’s “worst nightmare” John and Edward!
To make sure everyone gets a chance to see their X Factor favourite, the event will also be shown on a Big Screen at the bottom of Bridge Street.
The Christmas light switch-on event will also feature a range of entertainment for all the family from 4pm – 7.30pm.
Hosted by Chris Clarkson from BBC1’s The One Show, the audience will be entertained by a variety of fantastic acts including singer Kristyna Myles, High School Musical and Hannah Montana tribute act High School Holiday, Parr Hall’s larger than life pantomime stars, the winner of Warrington’s Got Talent 2009 and special guest stars Fifi and Bumble from Fifi and the Flowertots.
The event will also officially mark the start of extended late night shopping at Golden Square with shops opening every Thursday until 9pm until Christmas. There will also be free parking every Thursday from 4pm.
