AN 81-year-old man had to be admitted to hospital at Warrington after being attacked and robbed by a man brandishing a knife.
The attack took place in Bewsey Street, Warrington at 10.40pm on Tuesday (October 20) and left the victim badly shaken. He was unhurt but was kept in hospital overnight because of the trauma he had suffered.
Police say he was walking along the road when he was grabbed from behind and forced to the floor. The attacker then threatened him with a knife and stole a two-figure sum of cash from him before running off in the direction of Froghall Lane and Allen Street.
He is described as being in his mid-20s, about 5ft 10 inches to 6ft tall with a thin face. He was wearing a grey hooded top.
Anyone who witnessed the attack or who recognises the offender from the description is asked to contact PC Richard Kennedy on 0845 458 0000.

  1. How on earth could someone do something like this !!!!!! Absolutely SICKENING !!

The attacker should be locked up and the key thrown away….or better still put in a room with the elderly gents family and friends and subjected to whatever punishment they feel is fitting for the crime he has committed.
