Lucie's back in town

WARRINGTON singing sensation Lucie Evans is back on home turf after a hectic international schedule working towards a record deal.
It’s been a busy few months for the 16-year-old from Birchwood, who won a £100,000 internet singing competition last April.
After sitting her GCSEs in June, Lucie jetted off to Los Angeles for a taste of the rock star lifestyle, recording three songs with guitarists who worked with Robbie Williams and Avril Lavine. She was even interviewed by celebrity gossip columnist Perez Hilton.
She landed back in the UK in time to pick up nine grade A and two grade A* GCSEs then recorded another five tracks in London with Dsign Music, from Norway.
In September, she signed a contract with her management team Erika Lee and 1Click2Fame. Since then she’s been concentrating on getting a backing band together ready to perform at record industry showcases over the coming months.
Her proud dad, Rob Evans, said: “She’s back and forth from London all the time. It’s been a busy time for Lucie, recording and doing photo shoots and interviews.”
“The next step is for Lucie to work on building up her fan base and performing with the band so that she can hopefully clinch that record deal. The latest news is that the backing band is now complete and they’re spending all their time rehearsing together in Manchester.”
But the youngster isn’t too busy to remember her school friends at Birchwood High. She’ll be performing eight songs there on Friday (October 16) at their ‘Afroka’ fundraising evening for its partnership school in South Africa.
The week after Lucie will be interviewed by MTV in London, then performing at Lee Sharpe’s charity foundation dinner at the Midland Hotel in Manchester. She will also perform at a Heroes awards dinner and at the firework display at Spike Island, Runcorn, in front of thousands.
Readers can follow Lucie’s LA adventure by watching a video of her trip at www.myspace.com/lucieevans, where they can also download two of Lucie’s songs for free and listen to three more.
