POLICE raided three homes in Warrington as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug related crime in the town.
Two men, aged 36 and 29, were arrested and helped police with their enquiries.
The properties raided were in Grange Drive, Penketh, where a quantity of Class A drugs were seized and another in Spurling Road, Burtonwood, where a quantity of Class A drugs and drugs paraphernalia were discovered.
A third raid in Yardley Avenue, Bewsey, failed to uncover any drugs.
Sergeant Dan Lever said: “Drug use and supply can have a major impact on local communities. It is an issue we take extremely seriously and we hope that our actions will send out a strong message that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated and that those who are suspected of being involved in drugs will be dealt with robustly.
“We also hope that the efforts of officers in the Warrington West area are helping to reassure local residents. Members of the public are providing us with valuable information in relation to drugs in the local community. This type of information is vital and helps us to build up a bigger picture of what is happening in a particular area and to work out the best ways of dealing with any issues.
“We are committed to working with the local community and we would urge anyone with any information to contact us immediately.”
