Fun day for youngsters

CIRCUS skills, messy play and a drum workshop are just some of the activities on offer at a fun day for children under school age at Warrington tomorrow (Friday).
Callands Children’s Centre is hosting a celebration event aimed at families and youngsters from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
It is one of several events in the town to mark the first National Sure Start Children’s Centre Week – which aims to celebrate the success of children’s centres in securing the best start in life for children under five.
Information stands will be set up by Health Services, Families Information Service, Childminder Network, Family Learning and Family Support services. Parents can access information and guidance on parenting, child development, childcare and personal development courses.
For the children there will be fun including badge making, storytime, T-shirt making, crafts and Zippy Lee, the family entertainer.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington Coun Brian Axcell and his wife Irina, MP for Warrington North Helen Jones, Coun Sheila Woodyatt, executive member for children and young people and Coun Roy Smith, executive member for health and wellbeing, will be attending the event.
