THE local cricket season has ended – with only one significant change for Warrington clubs.
Grappenhall’s bid for promotion to the Chapel Press Cheshire County League premier division fizzled out with the Broad Lane club ending sixth in the first division.
But in the last match they defeated neighbours Warrington in the “derby” match – and consigned them to division two.
Warrington had a poor season and an improvement in form towards the end came too late. They came second to bottom in the first division, just two points above basement club Timperley.
Elsewhere, Lymm Oughtrington Park came fifth in the Melloer Braggins Cheshire League, division two and Rylands came 4th in division one of the Cheshire Alliance.
Glazebury were fifth in the Alliance division two.
