A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a horrific crash near Warrington.
The 23-year-old local man was arrested – but later released on police bail – after being discharged from Warrington Hospital where he had been treated for head injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses of the crash in Massey Brook Lane, close to the Thelwall Viaduct overbridge, at Lymm at about 6.35pm on Saturday, September 19.
They say a silver Lexus car left the road and collided with a tree.
One of the two occupants was found dead at the scene – and at first police reported it was the driver.
But the deceased, also 23, was later found to have been a passenger in the car.
Any one who witnessed the accident is urged to call PC Andy Hunt on 01244 615886 or the confidential Crimestoppers line 0800 555 111..
