WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones will be joining celebrations at the recently opened Sunshine Children’s Centre in Orford today (Friday)
The event is part of the National Sure Start Children’s Centre’s Week and will see a balloon race begin at 1.30pm.
This week has seen activities across the country designed to promote the universal services on offer for families with children under five.
Ms Jones said: ” I’m pleased to be backing all 11 Warrington Sure Start centres by taking part in the celebrations at the Sunshine Centre.
“They provide a range of fantastic services for families including childcare, healthcare, parenting advice, family support and opportunities to get back into work or training.
“Sure Start centres are a real success story and it is easy to forget that they did not exist before the government came to power in 1997. Parents regularly tell me how much they value their local centre and the real help they offer. So I want to thank all the staff and volunteers who have helped to make the town’s Sure Start centres such a success.”
The MP will be arriving at the Sunshine Centre at 1.15pm to join the celebrations with the balloon race due to start at 1.30pm.
