WARRINGTON Wolves’ fans were left shocked and outraged after discovering a Wembley winners medal was being offered for sale on e-bay.
The medal, which was being offered for £200 is believed to be one given to non-playing members of the squad who featured in previous rounds of the competition.
The seller described the item as “A very rare opportunity to have one of the Warrington Wolves challenge cup winners medals for your collection.
“The Item is an Authentic 2009 Challenge Cup Winners Medal as won by Warrington Wolves and comes in original Fattorini Artist Craftsmans case.”
The seller was also reserving the right to remove the item from sale at any time due to it being offered in other sales.
Warrington fans on the popular RL Fans forum expressed, outrage, disgust and disbelief that a winners medal appeared on e-bay so soon after a Challenge Cup success which has been 35 years in the waiting.
One disgruntled fan said: “I hope whoever does win it donates it to the club or auctions it off in benefit of Mike Greg fund, RFL Benevolent or something similar. It’s shocking players are allowed to do this and very disrespectful.”
Another supporter described it as “an absolute disgrace!”
Some fans are speculating that the medal is being sold by a player who may have left the club.

Update: Less than two hours after the medal sale was highlighted on warrington-worldwide it was withdrawn from sale!
