Charley and the beanstalk!

A YOUNG boy has his own “Jack and the Beanstalk” story after taking part in a sunflower seed challenge.
Charley Benson, aged four, (pictured right) and his three-years-old cousins Freya and Jonas Jackson, are members of Lymm Playgroup.
They were given the seeds to grow to see how nature worked, and planted them at their grandad’s garden in Woodland Drive, Lymm.
Grandad Peter Brandon said: “They were given the seeds to show how things grow, and grow they did.
“Within three months they had reached the monster height of nine feet six inches. In fact they grew so high that one had to be cut down in case the wind knocked it over.”
He said that Charley said it was like Jack and the Beanstalk.
Next year granddad has promised to feed the plants to see if they grow any higher, and suggested a local competition to see who can grow the highest sunflower.
