Masons provide gift to school

YOUNGSTERS at a pre-school group in Warrington will be able to play out in all weathers thanks to a grant from Freemasons.
A £1,500 cheque from West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity was given to Locking Stumps Pre-school group. The group now has enough funds to provide a shelter for an outside play area with soft-play flooring.
Barry Jameson, vice-chairman of the Warrington Group of Masonic Lodges, presented the cheque to Linda Boswell, pre-school manager.
The group is a private one, attached to Locking Stumps County Primary School, and is a registered charity. Other grants and fundraising have helped raise the £10,000 for the scheme.
The pre-school in Glover Road, Birchwood, provides 16 places at each of the 10 weekly sessions.
Barry said: “Pre-school groups are a valuable asset for the local community and do a fine job. We are delighted to be able to support this project which will allow additional use of the outdoor play area, especially in poor weather.”
