Festival raises £5k for charity

STOCKTON Heath’s annual festival raised an estimated £5,000 for local charities.
Cllr. Tudor Pole told members of the parish council the festival “paid its way” and reserves had increased to approximately £11.5k, though final accounts were still awaited.
It had cost over £30,000 to stage the festival which involved , 35 events at 11 venues, raising £5k for charity, with an estimated 2,500 people attending with 500 people watching the Mama Mia film on the Mill Lane Field despite a deluge of rain.
Cllr. Pole thanked the young volunteers, who were a credit to themselves and the local traders, apart from the banks and building societies, who provided great assistance and support.
