Dining for funds!

A WARRINGTON charity is on the look out for hungry fund-raisers who enjoy having friends around for dinner.
Warrington Grassroots are always on the lookout for imaginative new fundraising ideas and now supporters of community fund-raising initiative can now help generate additional funds by simply inviting friends around for dinner.
The community fund-raisers have teamed up with Dinner4Good a website which helps raise money for good causes.
Nigel Bacon, Chief Executive of Warrington Council for Voluntary Service said, “The nights are drawing in and eating in is the new going out, so this is a great way to fundraise and make a difference to your local community and it reduces the awkwardness of asking for money. Dinner4Good takes care of donations, including the Gift Aid application – so all you have to do is eat, drink and enjoy yourselves and remember, for every pound we get match-funding so a donation of £10.00 can become £25.60 for Warrington Grassroots!”
Sarah Ryder of Dinner4Good adds, “What’s really exciting about this idea is that anyone can do it – unlike running a marathon or climbing Kilimanjaro. What’s more, those donating get to enjoy the event itself, plus the money is raised by doing something you might be doing anyway. Lastly, but perhaps most important of all, it’s ‘sustainable’ – you can do it more than once and your friends might then also hold a Dinner4Good… which means that, over the coming months, this simple idea could raise more money than even the most heroic of feats!”
“The Warrington Grassroots Endowment Challenge is building a community capital so that it can continue to give grants of upto £5000 to local voluntary, community and faith groups after March 2011. Since September 2009, the scheme has already issued of £80,000 in grants.
Grassroots Grant aims to make a real and immediate difference to the Warrington community.
