Warrington Wolves home coming parade

TENS of thousands of Warrington Wolves fans lined the streets to welcome home their Challenge Cup heroes.
Rain failed to dampen spirits as nearly 5,000 fans descended on the Halliwell Jones Stadium for the start of an open top bus parade, with thousands more lining the streets.
The biggest welcome was reserved for the town hall lawn which was transformed into a sea of primrose and blue.
Head of Coaching Tony Smith confessed to being “bowled over” by the home coming reception saying he had never seen anything quite like it before.
Local lads Chris Riley and Mike Cooper said they were “overwhelmed” by the home coming reception, while another Warringtonian, Kevin Penny, who missed out on the final after not making the squad, was at the centre of the re-joicing.
Skipper Adrian Morley, who lifted the Challenge Cup with Leeds 10 years ago and tasted Grand Final success with the Sydney Roosters in Australia, admitted the Challenge Cup Final with Warrington and the home coming parade had been the “highlight of my career.”
The players will be celebrating tonight, with a day off tomorrow, before returning to training on Tuesday for the vital league clash with Hull KR away next Saturday, kick off 5.30pm, which they “must win” if they are to have any chance of making the top eight play-offs.
Exclusive video interviews with Tony Smith, skipper Adrian Morley, longest serving player Lee Briers, man of the match Michael Monaghan and “local lads” Mike Cooper and
Chris Riley will be uploaded from tomorrow, Monday, including video of the home coming at the town hall.
