A MAN has died in hospital following a road accident near Warrington last night.
The man, from High Legh, was the driver of a blue Toyota Yaris which was involved in a collision with a red Vauxhall Astra on the A588 Daresbury Expressway near the Daresbury Science Park.
Police said the Astra, travelling towards Runcorn, had apparently crossed onto the opposite side of the road and collided with the Toyota, which was travelling towards the A56.
A 22-year-old woman from Spain, who was a passenger in the Astra, received minor injuries and was taken to Warrington Hospital. The driver of the Astra, a 22-year-old man, also from Spain, was uninjured and was arrested at the scene. He is helping police with enquiries.
In a separate incident, a boy was taken to hospital after being involved in a collision with a blue Renault Megane at the junction of Long Lane and Northway, Warrington. His condition is said to be “stable”.
The car driver, a 38-year-old Warrington man, was uninjured.
Police are seeking witnesses of both incidents and anyone who can help should call Sgt Neil Farnworth on 01244 613813.
