Polio charity hopes to expand

0

THE British Polio Fellowship – one of the oldest caring charities in the county and celebrating its 70th anniversary this year – is seeking to expand its activities in the Warrington area.
BPF offers support for Polio sufferers and their carers through its central office and a network of branches and groups across the county, aiming to reach all “Polio survivors”.
The local group for this area is the Chester Group, which meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Salvation Army Hall in Ellesmere Port.
But group secretary Janet Dines is based in Lymm and is anxious to contact any Polio survivors in the Warrington area.
All the current members of the Chester Group were members of BPF before the group was formed some three years ago and now feel it is time to expand.
The monthly meetings have guest speakers, outings, social afternoons and discuss ideas and topics of interest.
Anyone interested in learning more about the BPF is asked to contact the group secretary on 01925 754278
