Remembering the fallen

EVERY year, Royal British Legion stalwart Mike Stansfield finds he is approached by people who would like to remember fallen servicemen and women with a Remembrance Cross.
The small, wooden crosses are available from the Royal British Legion, but to be sure of getting one for Remembrance Day it is best to order one in advance.
Mike, a member of Stockton Heath British Legion Club, is anxious to make sure anyone who wants one of the crosses can get one this year.
He said: “Most people buy a poppy for Remembrance Day, but an increasing number of people ask me where they can get the crosses.
“The answer, of course, is from the British Legion. But we need to order them in advance.
“You can get them for each of the services and even for different regiments or units, or you can simply get one with a poppy on.”
Anyone who would like one should contact Stockton Heath British Legion Club on 01925 262037 or Grappenhall and Thelwall British Legion Club on 01925 263819 or any other RBL club.
