A FIVE-day sports event at Warrington Peace Centre proved popular with more than 80 young people a-day taking part.
The sixth annual Summer Sports Festival was organised by the NSPCC and Participation Through Sport.
Youngsters, under the supervision of staff and older teenagers, enjoyed a range of challenging activities which included team building and sports. There were also sessions on T shirt design utilising images from around the world, children’s rights and food relating to different cultures.
NSPCC Participation Through Sport development officer Jameel Hadi said: “We promote the personal development and volunteering of young people, organise sports, taster sessions, day trips and holiday events.
“It has been so successful over the past years that our young volunteer leaders keep returning. We’re delighted to offer the facility as part of Warrington’s Summer Fun programme.”
