Woman trapped in car after crash

A WOMAN was taken to hospital at Warrington this morning after being trapped in her car following a collision.
The accident was in Manchester Road Rixton and police had to close the road for a time while a rescue operation was mounted.
Fire crews used cutting gear to remove the roof of the car, a Vauxhall Corsa, to enable paramedics to remove the woman who was complaining of neck injuries. She was taken to Warrington Hospital on a spine board.
No other vehicle was involved in the 6am crash and the car collided with a lamp post
The woman’s condition is not known.
