Record number of grants

A WARRINGTON community scheme fund has given out 14 grants this month – the highest number so far.
Warrington Grassroots Independent Panel approved the record number making the average grant just under £500 to each small, local community and voluntary group.
Nigel Bacon, chief executive of Warrington Council of Voluntary Service, said: “Samaritans, Bold Street Tea and Toast and Penketh Summer Festival are just a few who have benefited so far this year.
“Over 75 groups have received grants since the Grassroots Scheme started in September last year.”
