POLICE at Warrington, searching for a 75-year-old man, missing from home since Wednesday, have recovered a body.
The body appears to be that of a man in his 70s and was found in the Bridgewater Canal at Lymm near to Booths Hill Road.
So far there has been no formal identification of the man, but police were searching for Herbert Darbyshire, (pictured) who has not been seen since about 1.30pm on Wednesday.
A well known figure about Lymm village, Mr Darbyshire was last seen apparently out shopping, possibly carrying a blue shopping bag and wearing a brown flat cap and navy blue jacket.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances.
