WARRINGTON-based ESR Technology, an engineering, safety and risk management consultancy, has appointed Martyn Foote as general manager of its Aberdeen operation.
Martyn, (pictured) well known in the oil and gas industry as an authority on health and safety issues, will be in charge of management of the Aberdeen team and the delivery of safety consultancy services in the region.
He previously served 12 years as a marine engineer with the Royal Navy before moving into the oil and gas industry in 1985 as a maintenance superintendant at Transworld Drilling.
He worked in production operations with Texaco and was working on a platform neighbouring Piper Alpha on the night of the disaster. This experience was a key factor in his drive to improve health and safety procedures and training globally.
