HARD-hearted burglars have stolen a four-figure sum from an 87-year-old woman at Warrington.
Two men are believed to have been involved in the distraction burglary in Boulting Avenue, Dallam.
A clean-shaven man of about 40, wearing a baseball cap, called at the woman’s home and said he was from the water board. He was admitted to the house and apparently distracted the woman while a second man entered, went upstairs and stole a four figure sum.
The woman, who lives alone, was left confused and upset.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the offenders around 5pm on Tuesday, July 28.
Anyone who can help should call DC Alex Reeves on 01244 615858 or call the Crimestoppers line 0800 555 111.
