AN artificial grass park area and a giant sandpit will create a children’s play area in the Old Market Square – the Fishmarket -, Warrington, on Wednesday August 5.
It marks Playday, the annual celebration of children’s right to play, and will be open from 9am to 3pm.
Activities will include drumming, DJ workshops, pampering sessions and sports, as well as face painting, circus skills, arts and crafts.
Locally based Fusion Dance group will also be teaching visitors new dance moves around lunch time.
A borough council spokesperson said: “Research shows that, through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them, develop confidence, self-esteem and creativity – it is an essential part of every child’s emotional and physical development.”
