Ex-Tory launches new UKIP branch

PEOPLE disgruntled with the current political situation are being invited to join a new branch of UKIP (UK Independence Party) being set up in Warrington.
Former Conservative Lymm Parish Councillor James Ashington is setting up the

branch in Lymm. It currently has about 15 local supporters – but numbers are expected to swell after two local events.
On Saturday August 15 there will be an information table set up at Lymm Cross at 10.30am, where information on the party and the new branch will be available.
A public meeting will be held on Tuesday September 15 from 7.30pm at Lymm Parish Council Chamber. Guest speaker will one of the party’s MEPs.
Mr Ashington – who has previously stood as a Tory candidate in borough council elections, said: “I left the Conservative Party because they are not grasping the fact that we need to control our own destiny, not let un-elected European bureaucrats run our lives.”
He said he was not confident that the Conservatives would hold the promised referendum on whether the UK should stay in Europe.
“We need to reduce the influence that Europe has on us, and make sure that services such as the NHS and Education are run for our people,” he added.
Anyone interested in finding out more should contact Mr Ashington on 07950 036682.

  1. Independents in Lymm… well there’s a first 🙂 Good luck to them.

Wouldn’t be supprised if they get a lot of supporters as there are some rather unhappy people in Lymm at the moment because of various ongoing issues…. 🙁
