SIXTEEN retirement apartments at Warrington are to be renovated and brought up to present day standards at a cost of £160,000.
Warrington Housing Association has already completed work on two of the apartments at Lyon Court, Latchford.
Two others are currently being upgraded.
Designed to suit the needs of its residents, the renovation at Lyon Court will include stylish new bathrooms with contemporary wet floor showering areas, an improved kitchen layout with brand new fitted cupboards and work tops and bedrooms with additional privacy.
Situated just off Knutsford Road, about one mile out of the town centre, Lyon Court is conveniently close to Latchford village, allowing easy access to all the local facilities and transport routes.
WHA chief executive Alan Kemp said: “It is our aim to give retired people a good quality of independent living in an affordable home, as well as providing our residents with a strong degree of support.
“Warrington Housing Association is dedicated to making Warrington a great place to live. We always put people at the heart of our work and to ensure our residents at Lyon Court are not disrupted at any point, we are gradually upgrading the apartments as and when they become vacant.”
Lyon Court has 34 apartments suitable for singles and 20 larger apartments for couples, with all properties featuring a call system linked to the resident scheme manager. Other features include a lift, laundry, guest bedroom and two lounges, one overlooking landscaped gardens.
Warrington Housing Association has more than 1,300 high quality properties in the town for families, single people and retirement housing for the elderly. It also offers specialist accommodation designed for people with particular care and support needs.

  1. Those tiles are worse than scarey! the whole colour scheme of this kitchen is awful, beige mixed with grey, yuk! It looks like it’s been thrown together with any oddments to hand. The wall cupboards look rather high for older people also. Good money badly spent. What a disapointment, I can’t see people queing up to live here!
