Notice board
A NEW notice board is to be erected in the grounds of St Cross Church, Appleton Thorn – to serve both the civil and ecclesiastical parishes.It will have sections for church and parish council notices.
Parish councillors have agreed to contribute £1,000 towards the £1,875 total cost of the board.

Hospital lottery
WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 2, 7, 9 and 13. The jackpot prize went unclaimed and will be
“rolled over” to next week. A £25 consolation prize was won by a member of the hospital staff.

Nursery school
PLANS have been drawn up for a replacement nursery, external play area and altered car park at The Cobbs Infants School, Wood Lane, Appleton, Warrington.

Quiz night
A QUIZ night is being held at St Elphin’s Community Centre, Howley, Warrington, tonight (Friday) at 8pm.
Teams of four can compete and entry costs £3.

Park keeper
ALAN Nugent has been appointed park keeper at Alexandra Park, Stockton Heath.

Open church
THE historic St Werburgh’s Old Church at Warburton, near Lymm, will be open on Saturday and Sunday for
visitors to see its interesting interior and hear music from the Tudor period played by the Linton Ensemble.
