A WARRINGTON man’s first novel is being put forward for a major literary award.
Andrew Duggan, 46, formerly a pupil at Lymm High School and Culcheth High School, who now lives in Birchwood, wrote “Scars Beneath the Skin” after experiencing at first hand the terrorist bomb attack on Manchester city centre in June 1996.
He escaped without a scratch – but in trying to make sense of what had happened sat down and started to write what turned out to be a novel.
Published by Flambard Press, it has been put forward for the Costa Book Awards, and is described as a “dark, modern love story about a man whose mind is shattered by a terrorist bomb explosion and the woman who wants to turn his life around.”
