PLANNING chiefs have given the green light for another restaurant and takeway in Culcheth – despite objections from parish councillors.
The borough council’s development control committee approved an application by Adrian Griffin to the change of use of a new building in Common Lane from a shop with flat above it to a restaurant and takeaway with offices above.
Originally the property was in residential use. But in November last year, permission was granted for two shops on the ground floor with an apartment and office above.
In March this year, an application to change the shops to a restaurant/takeaway was refused.
The new application has replaced the residential element with an office to deal with objections based on the poor relationship between a restaurant and takeaway with a flat.
Culcheth and Glazebrook Parish Council opposed the scheme.

It never ceases to amaze me how the continual increasing number of eating establishments that open in a time when people allegedly are suffering from the credit crunch and should be tightening their belts.
How do these places stay in business?
