School excels in art education

A WARRINGTON school has received a national award for its excellence in arts education.
Arts Council England has awarded an Artsmark to Sankey Valley St James CE Primary School in recognition of its arts education work.
Head teacher Viv Formby said: “I am of course delighted that our dynamic arts programme has been recognised by the Arts Council.
“Our pupils have enjoyed working with a wide range of writers and artists and I’d like to thank all of our staff and pupils for their hard work. This award really belongs to them.”
Alan Davey, chief executive of Arts Council England said: “The award recognises Sankey Valley St James CE Primary School’s passion for the arts and its belief in the power of creativity.”
