In memory of a Buff

A CHEQUE for £500 has been presented to the MacMillan Nurses working out of St Rocco’s Hospice in memory of a Culcheth man who died recently.
Mark Harris, 84, was a member of the Culcheth-based Withington Lodge of the Royal Antideluvian Order of Buffaloes – “The Buffs”.
Lodge members presented the cheque but stressed the money was made up of donations from members of the public as well.
Mr Harris lived in Wirral Close, Culcheth and before retirement from an MOD police officer at Risley. He served in the RAF as a Flight Sergeant during the War and was later a member of the Palestine Police.
His wife, who died some years ago, was cared for at St Rocco’s.
The RAOB in Culcheth has a dwindling membership and anyone interested in joining them in their work of raising money for good causes should contact Robin Spencer on 01925 226130.
