Alison is back on the beat

A PCSO is back pounding the beat in Warrington – after returning from the trip of a lifetime.
Police Community Support Officer Alison Shacklock originally joined the team at Warrington East Neighbourhood Policing Unit in July 2007.
She left her role a year later to embark on the trip of a lifetime to Australia.
But now the 23-year-old has returned to Risley Police Station to take up the role of PCSO once again.
PCSO Shacklock said: “I loved working as a PCSO and spent 12 months getting to know the area and the local community. However, I sadly had to say goodbye to them in 2008 when I was given the opportunity to go travelling around Australia for a year.
“This was a wonderful experience

and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It was during my time travelling that I realised exactly what my job had meant to me and how much I had enjoyed it.”
Alison previously covered the Woolston and Culcheth areas but she has now been posted to a new patch – Padgate.
This week she said she could not wait to get out and about in the local area.
She said: “I am really excited to be covering the Padgate area. The PCSOs who already cover this area do a fantastic job and I feel privileged to be joining such a great team.
“I am looking forward to meeting people in the local community. I’m really keen to forge strong links with local residents, businesses and organisations. I want everyone to know who I am and how I can help them.
“I want people to feel that they can approach me and talk to me about any issues or problems they might have.”
PCSO Shacklock is more than prepared for the challenge. Policing runs in her family as both her father and step-mother are officers in Greater Manchester and her sister is an officer in Merseyside.
She added: “I am the fourth member of my family to join the police and I’m really proud to be keeping the tradition going.”
Alison can be contacted by calling the Warrington East Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0845 458 6390.
