A VILLAGE carnival with a Hollywood theme takes place tomorrow (Saturday)
Organisers of Croft Carnival are praying for good weather for the event, which offers something for all ages.
The carnival procession starts from The Plough Inn
in Kenyon Lane at 12 noon. There will be floats, bands, walking groups, etc and along the route there will be scarecrows dressed in the Hollywood theme.
It arrives at Croft Playing Fields at about 1pm where the carnival will be officially opened and the Carnival Queens will be crowned in the presence of the Mayor of Warrington, Coun Brian Axcell.
On the field there will be a variety of events including mountain bike stunts, fancy dress contest, circus skills workshop, Morris Men, bands and miniature steam railway rides.
In the evening there will be children’s races, adult novelty races and the annual egg throwing contest.
