FIVE people were arrested after drug squad officers raided a property at Warrington.
Detectives from the Northern Area Dedicated Drugs Unit – accompanied by officers from Warrington South Neighbourhood Policing Unit – executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in Evans Place.
Three men and two women were arrested and items seized from the address included a substantial amount of crack cocaine, drugs paraphernalia, almost £4,000 in cash, two cars and a knife.
Three men – a 34-year-old from Northwich, a 37-year-old from Warrington and a 37-year-old of no fixed address – were arrested at the scene.
All three helped police with their enquiries throughout the day and were each subsequently charged with one count of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
Two women – a 31-year-old from Warrington and a 33-year-old from Partington – were also arrested at the scene.
They helped police with their enquiries throughout the day and were later bailed pending further enquires.
PC Stephen Page, of the Northern Area Dedicated Drugs Unit said: “We are committed to tackling the issue of drug use and supply in the local community and we hope that our actions send out a strong message that we will not tolerate any sort of behaviour in Warrington that has a negative impact on the quality of life of residents.
“Drugs can have a major impact on local communities and it is an issue we take extremely seriously.
“We are committed to working with the local community and want to reassure residents that we will not hesitate in taking positive action where necessary.”
Inspector Gary McIntyre, of Warrington South NPU, said: “This latest warrant follows on from a number of warrants executed in the Warrington South area over the past few weeks as part of Operation Strikeout. Local officers are committed to tackling the issue of drugs and we would urge anyone with any information to come forward.
“This type of information is vital and helps us to build up a bigger picture of what is happening in a particular area and to work out the best ways of dealing with any issues.
“Anyone with any information can call Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000. Information can also be left anonymously on the Crimestoppers helpline – 0800 555 111.”
