Unauthorised wall can stay in place

PLANNING chiefs have decided a 2m high wall can stay in place, even though it was built without permission.
The wall is at Walnut Tree Farm, in Walnut Tree Lane, Appleton, close to the junction with Stretton Road.
Appleton Parish Council lodged objections to a retrospective application for planning consent on the grounds the wall, due to its height and location at a busy junction, was damaging to the rural street scene.
But planning officers argued that the wall was set back from the road and was viewed against the existing building or existing planting and fencing so caused no harm to the open setting of the Green Belt.
