WARRINGTON’S annual, free, family-friendly festival, Party at the Park, returns to Queen’s Gardens on Saturday July 4 with the fantasy theme of folklore, myths and legends.
TV presenter, and renowned local archaeologist, Mark Olly, (pictured right) frontman of Granada’s Lost Treasures, will be hosting the day’s events which start at 12 noon and ensuring everyone is transported back in time with full costumes and shows performed by local groups. The festival is jam-packed with events and activities for all!
Attrractions include an enormous smoke-breathing dragon, enchanting arts and crafts stalls, craft sessions and mini-Olympics to put youngsters on the path to 2012!
Alongside stage performances, there will be a number of local market stalls in the gardens, workshops for children, music and food and drink stalls.
Throughout the afternoon medieval knights will be defending their village!
Party at the Park celebrates the talent of community groups and schools, showcasing their work alongside professional acts.
It is part of the Town Centre Festivals’ programme, and the fun continues on the following weekend with more free activities with the Warrington Music Festival on Saturday July 11 and Warrington Youth Carnival on Sunday July 12, both at Queens Gardens.
