POLICE have released more details of a terrifying raid on a Warrington pub, first reported by Warrington-Worldwide yesterday (Monday)
They have also repeated an appeal for witnesses of the raid on the Thorn Inn at Appleton Thorn in the early hours of Monday.
Three people in the pub – the 52-year-old licensee, his 23-year-old son and a 24-year-old woman – were all tied up by three masked raiders who gained entry to the building.
They threatened their victims with screwdrivers and metal bars and ransacked the pub, stealing a four-figure sum of money, jewellery and more cash from gaming machines.
They are believed to have left the building through the back door and may have escaped in a car parked on the car park.
Police are appealing for witnesses who should call DC Jamie Thompson on 01244 615859. They are keen to speak to anyone who thinks they may have seen the offenders leaving the area.
