High school re-opens

PUPILS returned to Great Sankey High School, Warrington, today following the three-day closure due to a fire which cut off the school’s power supply.
The adjoining Barrow Hall Primary School and Great Sankey Leisure Centre, which were also blacked out, also re-opened today.
But the swimming pool at the leisure centre will not open until later this week because of the time it takes to treat and heat the water.
Repairs to the electrical installation were delayed because of the discovery of asbestos in ducting which had to be safely removed.
