Lorry plan withdrawn

A CONTROVERSIAL application for permission for heavy lorries to use Warrington’s Arpley landfill site early in the morning has been withdrawn.
The proposal was to vary existing conditions to allow vehicles to log in at the site weighbridge from 7.30am.
Residents of the Sankey Bridges area have been complaining for years about noise, dust and general disturbance caused by heavy lorries delivering waste materials to the giant site.
Objections were made to the recent application to allow earlier use of the site.
But the developers have withdrawn the application following talks with planning officers.
