Frank’s 60 years as a Freemason

A Warrington man has received a special commemorative certificate to mark the 60th anniversary of him becoming a Freemason.
There was a special meeting of Academy Lodge in Warrington Masonic Hall to celebrate the diamond jubilee of 83-year-old Frank Starkey becoming a Freemason.
Frank is extremely well-known throughout the north west and is involved in many different Masonic orders. For nine years he was secretary of the Warrington Group of Lodges and then served as group-vice-chairman for three years. He holds high rank in the United Grand Lodge of England.Assistant Provincial Grand Master Dennis Rudd told the special meeting about Frank’s distinguished service to Freemasonry and described him as “the epitome of a Freemason”.
He presented Frank with the special certificate which had been signed by the Provincial Grand Master, Peter Hosker. He was also presented with a telephone system and a special label badge showing that he has been a Freemason for 60 years.Frank was born and still lives in Stockton Heath.
He qualified as an electrical engineer and spent much of his career working in power stations.Frank is well known in Stockton Heath for his connection with St Thomas’s Church. He served as Church Warden for 12 years and is now deputy warden while also acting as the church’s “cashier”.
