CCTV to protect high-value homes

CCTV to protect high-value homes from the threat of crime is being offered by a Warrington-based company.
RemGuard Visual Management, part of Daresbury’s AD Group, is highlighting the growing potential of remotely monitored, detector activated, CCTV to protect the homes of “high net worth” individuals from attack.
The company say they are promoting the service against a backdrop of wealthy people being increasingly targeted by ruthless criminal gangs.
It cites high profile incidents where people have been tied-up and threatened in their own homes during robberies, underlining the vulnerability of residential properties to attack.
Operations director Alan Collinge said: “The reality is that many homeowners still rely on measures that are just not going to be effective in dealing with hardened criminals.
“What is required is a proactive solution where there is actually the ability to deter and intervene if an attack is launched on a high value property.”
He said there had been a yearly increase in numbers of homeowners using the services, especially celebrities and business people. Premier League footballers have also been targeted as the criminals know when they are playing.
The remotely monitored, detector activated CCTV comes into operation at the earliest phase of an incident and pictures are transmitted – via Internet broadband connection – to the company’s 24-hour response centre.
Operators can visually confirm what is happening and issue verbal warnings to intruders via on-site speaker, which is a sufficient deterrent in 90 per cent of cases. Operators can rapidly alert the emergency services and key holders so they can take appropriate action if needed.
