THE 16-year-old boy who tragically drowned at Warrington yesterday (Tuesday) has been named.
He was Temmi Abimbola, a pupil at Sir Thomas Boteler CE High School, Latchford.
Police frogmen recovered his body from Appleton Reservoir yesterday afternoon after he had disappeared after getting into difficulty in the water.
Temmi was a native of Nigeria.
It is understood he went to the reservoir to swim with a group of school friends.
The alarm was raised when he disappeared under the water and failed to resurface.
Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene but it took about three hours to recover the body.
A police spokesman said an underwater search team eventually recovered the body.
He said the facts had been reported to the coroner, but there were no suspicious circumstances.
Friends of the popular schoolboy are leaving tributes in his memory at the reservoir.
Police have issued a warning about the danger of swimming in reservoirs during the hot weather.
