Couple trapped in lift

A MAN and a woman – one disabled and in a wheelchair – had to be rescued from a lift at Warrington.
The couple’s ordeal, which lasted about 20 minutes, was at Warrington Central Station last night.
Fire crews were called to the scene after the couple became trapped between floors.
They managed to manually bring the lift to the correct level and devise a key to open the door.
Neither of the trapped people were harmed.
In a separate incident, firefighters were called to deal with a grass fire in Peel Hall Park, off Windermere Avenue.
A Fire Service spokesman said the dry spell posed the risk of further grass fires – particularly as some children were still on holiday from school.
