Neighbours object to barn plan

FIVE neighbours have objected to plans to rebuild an old barn partly destroyed by fire.
Residents of Bridge Close at Oughtrington, Lymm, say the proposed new building would not be aesthetically pleasing or in character with the semi-rural nature of the area.
Warrington’s development control committee will consider the scheme – put forward by the borough council itself – on Wednesday, June 3.
The original building consisted of a brick, single-bay structure with attached pigsties, probably dating from the 19th century, with a more recent steel framed extension.
The steel framed section was destroyed by fire some time ago and the brick section had been found to be structurally unsafe.
The building is needed for hay and grass storage in association with 14 acres of land rented from the council.
Planning officers are recommending the plan be approved because it is a bona fide replacement of an agricultural building with another.
