Get involved in Volunteer's Week

THE NSPCC in Warrington is celebrating Volunteers’ Week – which starts today – to highlight the dedication and hard work of their volunteers and encourage people to try volunteering for themselves.
A wide variety of volunteering opportunities are available through the NSPCC including volunteering for ChildLine, fundraising, or getting involved in outdoor activities such as the Big Bike Ride or the HACK – Hike Against Cruelty to Kids.
Volunteers are at the heart of the organisation and make a huge contribution to its work.
Martin Ashton, NSPCC head of local fundraising said: “We are all conscious of the current financial climate but we’re determined to keep raising much needed funds to help children. There are lots of ways people can support the NSPCC and our local events.
“We’ve actually found that people are being more creative with their charity giving and are instead donating time, resources and facilities if they can’t afford to give money.”
Mr Ashton said there were many ways to help the NSPCC, including raffle or auction prizes, placing collection tins on shop counters, or recycling ink cartridges and mobile phones.
