A WARRINGTON charity that has achieved recognition for working with runaway youngsters is running a fundraising appeal to expand its services.
The Relationship Centre, known for its Talk…don’t Walk project, has launched a Life Skills Academy Appeal.
It aims to get all professionals who are working with children, young people and families to get involved in the consultation around the development.
Acting director Lucy Hindmarch said: “The Life Skills Academy will house a range of services including existing provision and will offer a safe place for a young person to stay while providing help and support to deal with the reasons why they ran away.
“Protected at all times, we will work closely with the family and professionals to resolve the issues, continuing with the support until the help is no longer needed.”
She said it will also help young people leaving care as they settle into the community.
To start the fundraising a fancy dress car wash is being organised this Saturday from 10am to 2pm at Aldi car park in Warrington. The cost is £3.50 and money will go towards the appeal.
