IT’S “Walk to School Week” – and schools across Warrington are taking part.
Parents and children alike are being encouraged to leave the car at home or park further away and walk to school.
A borough council spokeswoman said: “Walking is great exercise for both parents and children and it also helps children to arrive at school refreshed and ready to learn.
“The walk to school is a great time for parents and children to enjoy time together and also for children to socialise with friends.
“The more people that walk to school the fewer cars there are outside the school, making it a safer and more pleasant environment.”
