OBJECTIONS to the granting of a permanent licence for the Creamfields music festival at Daresbury have been lodged by Stockton Heath Parish Council.
Members decided to oppose the application “to maintain democracy and flexibility.”
Parish councils are not allowed to directly object to the application so members agreed to oppose it through Warrington Borough Council.
They believe a permanent licence will reduce the level of control the police and local authorities will have over the two-day event.
Individuals have until next Wednesday, May 20, to lodge objections with Halton Borough Council who will hear an applications from the festival organisers later this month or early in June.
